Sarah Mears: 'Every Part of Pratt & Whitney is Touched by the Quality Organization'

November is World Quality Month. Find out what Pratt & Whitney Quality employees find rewarding about their jobs and why Quality is such an important factor in the company's success.

Quality Counts

Sarah Mears: Hi. I'm Sarah Mears; I'm with IAE Quality. I've been with the V2500 program for six years now. Quality is great in the fact that you get to be involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the product. I would say the favorite part of my job is getting to work with our different partners, but I also get to work with a vast number of customers, be it different airframers - we get to work with Irkut, Airbus and Embraer - as well as the airlines from a repair and overhaul standpoint.

Sarah Mears: If you're interested in working in Quality, there are lots of growth opportunities available, whether it be in program quality, which gives you some of the customer interface, with the different airframers and airlines, it also gives you the opportunity to work with different parts of the organization. You can work with Industrial Management, Operations, Engineering, Programs. Basically, every part of Pratt & Whitney is touched by the Quality organization.
