Video Explores Supply Chain's Critical Role

In this video, Dr. Kevin Michaels, a vice president at ICF International, a global consulting firm that provides professional services and technology solutions, explores the critical role the supply chain plays in the company's future success.

Michaels has more than 25 years of aviation experience, including hundreds of consulting engagements for leading global aviation and aerospace companies. He is a recognized expert in the aerospace manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul sectors.

During the video, Michaels lauds Pratt & Whitney's current growth and its upcoming engine ramp, calling the company's recent turnaround "a comeback for the ages." Pratt & Whitney is fast-approaching an increase in annual engine build it has not seen in more than several decades, in large part due to the growth of the PurePower® engine family, as well as several military programs.

Michaels also points to Pratt & Whitney's focus on creating supplier redundancies which will create opportunities for supplier that they might not have had previously. He highlights supplier commitment to quality and UTC's ACE tools to ensure customer satisfaction.

"Pratt & Whitney has committed significant resources to modernizing and expanding our manufacturing and logistics processes to meet the coming ramp. We expect our suppliers to do exactly the same, invest in their infrastructure, systems, and people, and prepare for the ramp. The importance of a strong and committed supplier base to our overall success has never been more critical," said Sergio Loureiro, vice president, Global Supply Chain. "Synchronizing our activity with our suppliers, staying ahead of any issues and continuing to focus on supplier quality through the application of our ACE tools, will ensure customer satisfaction going forward."
