United Technologies Corp. Pledges to Support Turkey Relief Efforts

HARTFORD, Conn. – United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) has made a $250,000 donation to the American Red Cross, to support relief efforts in Turkey, following a recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the earthquake and those involved in the ongoing recovery effort,” said UTC Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Louis Chênevert. “United Technologies is thankful that our employees in Turkey are safe. We encourage everyone to support those impacted by the disaster.”

United Technologies has more than 600 employees in Turkey, which operates the world’s largest fleet of Sikorsky BLACK HAWK helicopters – used widely in humanitarian relief efforts – outside the United States. Earlier today, Sikorsky Aircraft President Jeffrey P. Pino delivered a keynote address at the 30th Annual Conference of the American-Turkish Council in Washington, D.C.
