UTC named to Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for 11th consecutive year

UTC has been named to the 2009-2010 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). The indexes are the longest-running global sustainability benchmarks and follow a best-in-class approach to identify sustainability leaders from each industry on a global and regional level. UTC has been a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes every year since the indexes began in 1999.

UTC’s score rose five points over the 2008 score. It represents the fourth consecutive year the UTC score has increased and is the highest achieved by UTC since its inclusion in the DJSI.

The 2009 assessment process reviewed 2,500 companies along 58 difference criteria including corporate governance, risk management, climate change mitigation, codes of conduct, environmental health and safety results, supply chain standards, corporate citizenship and human resource management. In 2009, 317 companies were selected for the DJSI World.

To assure the assessment process, Deloitte conducts an annual review and continuous monitoring of companies included in the DJSI.
