Profiling The Production Ramp: Creating a Mirror Image of Lean

The production ramp up is fast becoming a reality throughout Pratt & Whitney. To learn more about what that means to employees, we are launching the "Profiling the Production Ramp Up" video series, featuring Pratt & Whitney employees from across the enterprise. Whether they work in manufacturing, operations, supply chain management, engineering or quality, their message is the same: "We're ready for the ramp."

In this video, "Creating a Mirror Image of Lean," Frank Rzeznikiewicz, general manager, Pratt & Whitney Amercon, talks about creating a "mirror image" of lean manufacturing - from the legacy side of the business - in the newly expanded facility in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

"We transitioned everything we learned here on the legacy side into the new building," Rzeznikiewicz said. "We worked with a clean slate, a fresh blueprint, to take everything we've learned on this side of the business over to the new side."
