Otis Electric Wins Chengdu Metro Line 5 Project

HANGZHOU, China February 1, 2018 — Otis Electric will provide more than 270 elevators and escalators to the new Chengdu Metro Line 5, bringing the total number of Otis Electric units to nearly 800 on the subway network of Chengdu, provincial capital of Sichuan province in west China. Otis Electric is a sub-brand of Otis, the world’s leading manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The Chengdu Metro Line 5 connects the city’s northern Xindu district to the fast-growing Tianfu New District, home to high-end manufacturing and service industries as well as modern residential developments. It is scheduled to open in 2019.
