Modernizing Elevator Doors without Construction
SAO PAULO, Brazil, April 25, 2016 — Elevadores Otis introduces another innovation to the Brazilian elevator industry with the launch of its INOVA™ door, the simple solution to replace swinging doors in older elevators with new automatic doors that increase safety and comfort for users. Installation is fast and secure with no construction work needed, cutting costs and saving time. The INOVA door also allows more usable space in halls, adding value to the property. Otis is a unit of the United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
In addition to its unique design and enhanced safety, with the INOVA door technology, there is no need to install door closers – one of the more frequently replaced parts in old, swinging door systems, lowering repair expenses. The INOVA doors use a modern Lambda™ electronic protection sensor to immediately reopen when an object or person is detected, providing enhanced safety to passengers who will no longer need to pull or push the door to open or close. This reduces risks especially for elderly people, children and pets.
“The INOVA door was produced by the Otis Brazil factory to meet the needs created by older elevators, and provide solutions that will renew the passenger experience,” said Julio Bellinassi, managing director, Otis Brazil. “The product followed the strict Otis process to guarantee quality and safety."
