SEOUL, South Korea, July 10, 2015 – Otis Elevator Korea (“Otis Korea”) celebrated the opening of its Customer Logistics Center in Asan, South Chungcheong Province on July 9, as well as the first shipment of the Gen2 Dynamic, an exclusive Korean elevator model. Otis, the world’s largest manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways, is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The launch of the customer logistics center in Asan, together with the existing center in Incheon, enables the company to enhance customer service. The Gen2 Dynamic is the first product to be shipped through the Asan customer logistics center.
“The opening of the Asan customer logistics center is evidence of Otis Elevator Korea’s confidence in its growth and future,” said IS Cho, managing director, Otis Elevator Korea. “We will use it as an opportunity to enhance customer service and introduce innovative products. The release of the Gen2 Dynamic, demonstrates our commitment to introducing products that will add value for our customers in Korea.”
The Gen2 Dynamic is an upgrade to the Otis Gen2® elevator system, an innovative system that was the first to use a polyurethane flat belt instead of a steel rope. Based on the Gen2, the Gen2 Dynamic features excellent design and upgrades in customer convenience and comfort.
To give the elevator a more luxurious appeal, LED lights were integrated into the ceiling and walls to create an elevator setting with modern sensibilities and comfort in mind. A large, white LED backlight illuminates the buttons and destination floor, enabling people to better view the numbers. The buttons are arranged on the right side wall in consideration of typical passenger movement and ergonomics.
