Smaller Site, Bigger Goals: Pratt & Whitney Canada Southeast Asia Site Claims Excellence Award

UTC’s smaller facilities are stepping up to meet the challenge of achieving environmental, health and safety excellence.

Smaller facilities can face unique environmental, health and safety challenges, including limited resources and a lack of personnel who can work exclusively on EH&S programs. Pratt & Whitney Canada's Southeast Asia site in Singapore successfully took on these challenges and we’re proud to identify them as the recipient of the 2013 Small Site EH&S Excellence Award.
The award recognizes a regional or individual location with fewer than 250 employees that either demonstrates significant improvement in or sustained excellence in EH&S Management. The P&WC Southeast Asia site was earned through the successful completion since 2010 of over 1.5 million hours of work without a lost time incident, and attainment of a score of 94 percent during its 2012 EH&S assurance review. The site also implemented a building energy management system, site fuel use reduction program, and site water efficiency program.
UTC believes in the value of a world-class EH&S culture, wherever we operate and across all of our businesses, large and small. Through it's EH&S performance, the P&WC Southeast Asia site routinely demonstrates that our belief is well founded.
