Carrier Transicold and Refrigeration Systems presented a $5,000 donation to Palm Beach County Food Bank in December 2016 in support of the food bank's ongoing effort to address the needs of 200,000 individuals in need.
UTC Climate, Controls & Security is pleased to share its recent donation to the Palm Beach County Food Bank of Lantana, Fla. A check in the amount of $5,000, along with boxes of non-perishable food items, was presented by David Appel, president, Carrier Transicold and Refrigeration Systems, to help the food bank feed Palm Beach County residents. UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a leading provider of refrigeration systems, is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
All of the non-perishable food items were collected and donated by employees to support the food bank’s goal of addressing the needs of more than 200,000 food insecure residents of Palm Beach County.
"UTC Climate, Controls & Security is committed to being a good neighbor in all locations where our employees work and live, and particularly in the home of our future headquarters and new UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings," Appel said. "Our employees always strive to make a difference, whether through the energy-efficient building products or cold chain solutions we develop, or to do something as straightforward and meaningful as helping those in need."
"The Palm Beach County Food Bank is grateful to United Technologies for its support and efforts to alleviate hunger in our area," said Gary Woodfield, chairman, Palm Beach County Food Bank, Board of Directors. "The employee food drive and corporate cash contribution demonstrate United Technologies’ commitment to the communities which are home to their facilities. It is this type of support from business partners that makes it possible for the food bank to carry out its mission to help the less fortunate."
