Today he is a communications manager with Pratt & Whitney, a role that requires the broad business understanding that an MBA affords. “When I first joined the company, I didn’t know how it operated, and I didn’t have the money to pursue a degree,” says Frank. “Now I have a better understanding of the business world, and I have the communications skills I need to help the company achieve its business goals in a more effective and elegant way.”
Frank applied project management skills from his MBA to a project near and dear to him – a social media plan for Pratt & Whitney China to engage stakeholders and promote the company’s leadership in technology and product quality. After only six months, the social media platforms have received nearly 2000 followers.
“I owe a special thank you to the Employee Scholar Program,” says Frank. “Without it, I wouldn’t have had the courage to pursue my dreams and take on new challenges. Through the ESP program, UTC demonstrates that business is about more than profits. It is also about changing the world starting from the people around you by empowering their dreams. Thank you!”
