SYRACUSE, N.Y. -
Carrier has been making wishes come true for more than 25 years. Since 1992, the company and its employees have contributed nearly $100,000 in support of the Make-A-Wish Central New York chapter; including this year’s sponsorship in the Adopt-A-Wish program that will provide a child with a life-changing wish experience. Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of Carrier, a leading global provider of innovative HVAC, refrigeration, fire, security and building automation technologies.
“For us, Carrier has redefined the word ‘partner.’ As our first Adopt-A-Wish corporate sponsor, they remain our longest. Not only have their monetary donations positively impacted the lives of so many critically ill children in our area, but their engagement with our mission, on many levels, has come to represent the epitome of all we could ask for from a corporate sponsor. We are truly, together, transforming lives one wish at a time, and for that, we are most grateful,” said Diane Kuppermann, president & CEO, Make-A-Wish Central New York.
For nearly three decades, Carrier has passionately supported Make-A-Wish’s mission of making life-changing wishes come true for children with critical illnesses. Carrier was the first company in the community to become an “Adopt-A-Wish® Sponsor” when the elite giving level was established in 1993. This support has gone beyond monetary and in-kind donations to hosting wish parties, attending “Star Parties,” volunteering at the Make-A-Wish facility and serving on the board of trustees.
“We believe contributing to the well-being of our community makes Central New York a better place to live,” said Lou Anne Mann, manager, Community Affairs, Carrier. “With so many young people facing critical illnesses, we know that supporting a wish is a game-changer them. We are proud to be a continuing sponsor of wishes and hope that we continue to make a difference in the lives of many families throughout the region.”
Make-A-Wish continues to “bring the magic of a wish” to special Central New York children because of the generous support of the Central New York community, that includes both individuals and corporations, throughout the fifteen-county region it serves. The counties being served are: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins.
