Stephen Timm is president of Collins Aerospace, a business of United Technologies Corp., which was created in 2018 through the merger of UTC Aerospace Systems and Rockwell Collins. Collins Aerospace is a global leader in aviation and defense markets, with $26 billion in net sales and more than 70,000 employees around the world.
Timm brings nearly 25 years of experience to this role, previously leading Collins Aerospace’s Avionics Strategic Business Unit. In that role, he was responsible for advancing aviation electronics and information management solutions in the flight deck and cabin for commercial and military customers around the world.
He also served as vice president of the Commercial Avionics portfolio within the Avionics business, building avionics positions for both Airbus and Boeing next-generation aircraft, introducing differentiating solutions to the market, and capitalizing on enterprise information management capabilities.
Building on a reputation of strong customer focus, effective communications and enterprise collaboration, Timm led many important initiatives over the course of his career at Rockwell Collins. He managed the company’s U.S.-based Service Centers; spearheaded the Commercial Information Management strategy and business, pioneering new ways to leverage information to create value for customers; and defined and deployed the initial application of the Life Cycle Value Stream business framework – which continues to guide how Collins Aerospace serves customers today.
Timm holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems and business from Wartburg College and an MBA from the University of Iowa.
