Environment Health & Safety Leadership Program duration (24 months)
3 Rotations (8 months each)
ELPs rotate through three eight-month assignments – one at either UTC Corporate or at a business unit headquarters EH&S program office, and two at UTC manufacturing facilities.
Each rotation provides comprehensive experience with UTC’s environment, health and safety programs, and includes task assignments across a broad range of EH&S subjects and UTC program areas, including:
Review and analysis of the primary EH&S regulations governing UTC operations and participation in UTC’s compliance/assurance site audit program
Workplace safety and risk mitigation, job hazard analysis and the development of programs to eliminate task specific ergonomic risks
Training in the use of facility hazard risk assessment (FHRA) tools and completion of FHRAs at company facilities
Analysis of environmental impacts associated with site use of energy and water, waste generation, and greenhouse gas and air chemical emissions
Participation in UTC site energy audits and development of site energy use improvement plans
Company and business unit EH&S program data analysis and program progress reporting
Applicability and potential performance assessments of pollution prevention and control technologies under consideration for deployment at UTC facilities
