Support through philanthropic giving

UTC is proud to support causes that affect its businesses and employees. UTC funds qualified 501(c)3 U.S. organizations and the equivalent nonprofit organizations outside of the U.S. in our emerging markets that meet its eligibility criteria and operate in the company's focus areas. UTC's grant making is centered on the geographic regions where our employees live and work and within the following four focus areas:

  • Supporting vibrant communities: To support community revitalization initiatives, health and human service programs and arts and culture.
  • Building sustainable cities: To build environmentally sustainable cities that are safe and energy efficient to protect people, assets and natural resources. UTC focuses on sustainable building practices, urban green space, and preservation of natural habitats to offset green-house gas emissions
  • Advancing STEM education: To advance the education of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to develop the next generation of engineers and scientists. UTC targets programs that include employee volunteerism to spark students’ interest and inspire innovation especially for minorities and women.
  • Investing in emerging markets: To lay the foundation for responsible citizenship from the inception of expanding business opportunities. UTC’s current investment aims to support communities through employee engagement in China and India.
